Melanotan II

An alpha-MSH analogue — stimulating melanogenesis and central melanocortin receptors.

Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It stimulates melanogenesis, the production of melanin in the skin.

Beyond pigmentation it also acts on central melanocortin receptors, which is why research covers it in the context of both UV protection and libido.
